Grated Coconut, Coconut Oil and more

The coconut palm was introduced in Brazil in 1553 by the Portuguese. The fruit of the coconut palm can be consumed in different ways, more specifically its water, pulp and fiber, a fruit widely used in food, cosmetics and natural medicine, with bactericidal, antiparasitic antioxidant, hypoglycemic, hepatoprotective and immunostimulant properties.

Its main benefits are in its seed, which, when ripe, has many vitamins, minerals and trace elements, i.e., essential nutrients for our organism. The coconut contains calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, selenium, iodine, zinc, fluorine, and manganese, among others.

The coconut market

There are two aspects of the coconut market: The market for the dry coconut, destined for agro-industry, and the market for the green coconut, destined for the production of coconut water.

Embrapa estimates that the Brazilian production is approximately 2.8 billion fruits, of which 35% is destined to agro-industries (producers of shredded coconut, coconut milk and derivatives), 35% to the South/Southeast markets and 30% to the Northeast market.

The growing demand for coconut water is met through extraction and packaging, and multinational beverage companies have realized that the market for natural beverages is growing more than that for soft drinks and artificial products, showing the tendency of the consumer market.

The consumption of dried coconut, coconut oil and by-products are following the same path, with an expressive growth in the last years, with an offer of the product in several presentations, such as the several grated patterns, coconut milk in several concentrations, coconut sugar, among others.

The cosmetic industries do not escape the trend, with launches that reinforce the product's positioning in the natural market and its benefits, representing a significant consumption by the sector.

Real Company supplies a large variety of coconut derivatives: grated coconut in various weights and fats, coconut milk in various concentrations and in powder, virgin and Extra Virgin coconut oil, coconut flour, coconut sugar. We serve Food Industries, distributors, wholesalers and retailers of all sizes, as well as Cosmetics Industries that use coconut oil as a component in the formula of many of their products.
